California Gurls featuring Snoop Dogg

This is one of Phoebe's new favorite songs. I'm not sure that it is the most appropriate song in the world, but it is catchy and she LOVES it! These one-man dance parties are a regular occurrence after her nap. And notice the shorts in the middle of the floor. I swear she would be entirely naked all the time if we let her.

4th of July 2011

Our fun day started off with a Peachtree Road Race after party. Our very good friends always host a get-together after the race each year. Phoebe got to play with her friend Julia while Shawn and I got to catch up and visit with good friends.

After naps and time to decompress we were off to the next event. Every year we head out to the club to watch fireworks and eat, eat, eat! This year Phoebe was brave enough for a tatoo. She made it very clear that she wanted nothing on her face and that she would only do it if the paint could be on her arm. The nice lady complied with her request.

Jacob and Owen got matching spiders, while Phoebe remained in spirit of the day.

Unfortunately, the storms came rolling in just before dark and we all had to race into the clubhouse. After about 45 minutes, they decided to postpone the fireworks because there was just too much lightening in the air. Oh well. We still had a super fun day!

Hershey, PA

We just spent an amazing week in Hershey, PA! I know... it doesn't sound that glamorous, but what a great place for the family. The main reason we were there was because Shawn was in the PGA Professional National Championship golf tournament. It was such an honor and privilege to be part of the tournament. To give you some perspective... 3500 golfers tried to qualify. Of those 3500, only 312 get to go to the tournament. Of those 312, the goal is to finish top 20 in order to be invited to the PGA Championship. Shawn fell a bit short finishing 56. Needless to say, we are so, so proud of him. So while he played, so did we!

Here is Phoebe milking her first wooden cow in Lancaster, PA. This town is known as Amish country. What an amazing experience to see all the Amish in horse and buggy; the women don't wear shoes; their homes and farms are immaculate; they are truly a fascinating people.

Here is Phoebe playing some shuffleboard back at the hotel- The Hershey Lodge.

And every night they had a fire pit so we could make s'mores.
With her nana.
With her papa. This was her sleeping buddy every night. She would not sleep with anyone but Papa. Let me tell you... he loved every minute!

After two days of competition we found out that Daddy made the cut to continue playing in the tournament. Here is Phoebe pointing at his name on the scoreboard.

She was so proud of him for making the cut.

The last night in Hershey, we went to Hershey Park. What an awesome place! It was by far one of the best amusement parks I have ever been to. Unfortunately, we were all too big to ride Phoebe's rides, so she had to get brave and go by herself. She did it... no problem. She rode and rode and rode and rode!

Here she is on the mini carousel. I think she did this one 7 times!

Father's Day 2011

What a great day! I'm not sure if this is becoming a tradition or just a coincidence, but we went to the Braves game again this year for Father's Day. It was a scorcher, but we all had a great time. Shawn is sporting his "just for fun" gift (only really funny if you are a Caddyshack fan).

Here is Miss Phoebe again running the bases. She is very serious until she reaches the bag where she does a very girly twirl of some sort.
And it was also a special day because I got to spend it with my daddy (also sporting his "just for fun" gift-- again, only funny if you are a Seinfeld fan).

Happy Father's Day to the two best dads I know!

Y-M-C-A!!!

Mommy signed me up for a two week swim class at the YMCA. I improved so much since the first day, which was spent sitting on the sidelines watching the other kids. Today was the last day... look how much I improved.

Here I am waiting my turn while my teacher worked with the other kids.

I just need two noodles and I'm off.

This is my friend Mr. Kim. He is my age, but he didn't speak... ever. His mom didn't speak either, so everyone just called him by his last name... Mr. Kim.

Trying to focus on keeping my chin up and my mouth closed.

There I go all by myself... kicking my little heart out to get to the end of the pool.

I completed two weeks of swim class at the "Y" and got a "Super Swimming" ribbon to prove it!

Shower time!

Here I am in the shower. I L-o-o-o-o-o-ve taking showers! Obviously I have some support in order to get this much hang time.

It doesn't hurt that the bathroom mirror is directly across from the shower.

I am pretty sure I am getting tickled in this shot.
