Phoebe and I had to run several errands yesterday after she woke up from her nap. Once we finally got out of the house and were on the road, I asked her what I always ask her after she wakes up from a sleep... "What were your dreams?" She would always reply with random responses, but not yesterday. After she thought about her response for several seconds, she replied definitively.
"Cake," she responded nonchalantly.
"What did you dream about?" I asked again.
"Cake, Mama."
"What else did you dream about, Phoebe?"
"Just cake, Mama."
Oh the simplicity of a child's mind. While the rest of us dream about bills, dieting, work, etc., Phoebe (and probably almost every other two-year-old) dreams of cake. Sigh.
