Spring cleaning...

Phoebe really wanted to help me clean the deck furniture the other day. She had her own bucket and rag. She loves to help... actually, she loves to do anything that I am doing.

Easter

Easter Sunday was a special day. The cousins were all together, which is always right where they want to be!This is one of those pictures we don't often take these days. Here is the original cast of the Edwards family... just brother, sister, mom, and dad.
And what is Easter without a petting zoo? Phoebe and the boys loved brushing all the animals.

It's a BOY!

So, here's the story... I had my monthly doctor's appointment yesterday; it was the doc's last appointment of the day. He was wrapping up with me, and I said, "So I really have to wait one more month to find out the sex? Come on. It's late in the day. You're not busy. Let's just pop in the ultrasound room and take a quick peek." Of course I was totally kidding.

"Okay," he said to my complete surprise, "why not?" I was not expecting this, of course. I was not prepared. Shawn wasn't with me at this appointment because he was planning to come to the next one when we found out the sex. I didn't want to leave him out. I told the ultrasound tech that I didn't want to know because I wanted my husband to be a part of the excitement.

She rubbed that gel all around my belly and decided that was she saw was quite clear. Just to be sure, though, she went to get a second opinion from one of the midwives who ultimately confirmed what she saw. They put the results in an envelope that taunted me for about 3 hours until Shawn got home from work!

Shawn opened the envelope first, straight-faced, looked at the ultrasound with the typed letters B-O-Y. I grabbed the envelope and screamed. I saw those letters, too. We were screaming and crying with excitement.

Phoebe was involved too, but she had a MUCH different reaction.

We are so excited... even Phoebe. She just doesn't know it yet!

Prom 2011

Saturday night Shawn and I had a date night. We attended the Johns Creek High School prom. It was held at the Retreat at Dunwoody, and the theme was Fire and Ice. I loved seeing the kids all dressed up. Shawn is always such a good sport when I drag him to these things-- he doesn't understand why I like to be around teenagers, but then again, I can't imagine being around golf 24/7.

And yes, if you didn't know, I am pregnant-- 15 weeks in this picture.

Disney Trip 2011

We had an amazing trip to Disney this year for Spring Break. There were 9 of us, and the memories are cemented forever. Phoebe might not remember much of this trip, but Shawn and I will always carry some fond, fond memories.

Phoebe could not have been more content. She had her cousins all to herself for the week.

Phoebe and her daddy on It's a Small World. This ride was definitely one of her favorites. Phoebe sitting on top of her Papa in order to see one of the shows in front of the castle. She LOVED the shows!

Disney cont.

I have to admit that one of the highlights of the trip for me was taking Phoebe to lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table. We actually got to eat lunch in the castle and meet various princesses. Phoebe was still a bit unsure, but I could tell she was loving it.

The first princess to come to our table was Aurora.

Next came Snow White.

Then Jasmine.

And finally, Belle.

It was definitely a magical lunch!
