4th of July 2010

We went to the club again this year for the annual 4th of July celebration! The festivities began at 6 pm with hot dogs, burgers, b-b-q, watermelon, and any other type of picnic food you can think of. I danced, jumped rope, hula hooped, and danced some more. Once it got dark enough, it was time for the big show. Last year Mommy and Daddy took me home before the fireworks started, but this year I got to stay. I was so brave... not one whimper (even though Mommy and Daddy had a full proof exit strategy in place). It was such an amazing site!

Here I am with Papa...

with Daddy...

and with Mommy!
All the way home in the car I kept looking for the "booms." That is what I call them now. We got home, took a quick bath, and I was off to bed with my glow bracelets securely on my wrists and ankles. Such a fun night!

Yeah for Mommy!

This weekend Mommy got her dream car. She has been wanting a white Volvo Cross Country Wagon since she was in high school. Can you believe it? This weekend her silly wish came true.

I like it too!

"Blogworthy" by megan

Phoebe and I had to run several errands yesterday after she woke up from her nap. Once we finally got out of the house and were on the road, I asked her what I always ask her after she wakes up from a sleep... "What were your dreams?" She would always reply with random responses, but not yesterday. After she thought about her response for several seconds, she replied definitively.

"Cake," she responded nonchalantly.

"What did you dream about?" I asked again.

"Cake, Mama."

"What else did you dream about, Phoebe?"

"Just cake, Mama."

Oh the simplicity of a child's mind. While the rest of us dream about bills, dieting, work, etc., Phoebe (and probably almost every other two-year-old) dreams of cake. Sigh.

Just like Mommy

Today I wanted to be just like Mommy. I assumed the position and started banging on those keys and moving that mouse thing around. I had no idea what I was doing, but I see Mommy do it all the time. I don't really see what the big deal is. :)

Father's Day- Part I

This morning Daddy got up and wanted to work in the yard. I just couldn't wait any longer, so we had to go outside to interrupt him. Here I am giving him the picture frame that I made. I colored it and painted it.

Here is another present from Mommy and me. It is a drawing of ME! Mommy hired a very talented high school art student from her school to do a pencil drawing of me. It took him about three weeks, and he did it from a picture Mommy gave him. Daddy was so surprised!

You can't really see it very well in this picture because of the glare. It turned out really great! It looks just like me!

Father's Day- Part II

We spent Father's Day afternoon at the Braves Game! It was my first baseball game ever (except for Jacob's and Owen's games). Nana and Papa came, too!

It was so hot!

Here I am running the bases. I must have run this thing 10 times! The big kids that kept cutting in line in front of me didn't intimidate me one bit. I just kept waiting my turn, and then I would run my little heart out.
