Tutu-tastic!

I should first let you know that this AMAZING tutu was a gift from one of my students. When I brought it home today Phoebe was beside herself with excitement. After her bath this evening, she decided to do what she does most nights after her bath-- perform! Shawn turned the satelite to "Old School Funk" and let her do her thing. I am not really sure what this song is all about, but she seems to be enjoying herself.

Really?

This is the ensemble that Phoebe chose to wear after her bath this evening-- her bathing suit and my boots. She even added a musical number to give it some pizazz! I guess this is what happens when you leave a three-year-old to her own devices.

Blogworthy by megan

The daily routine is as follows: 1. Shawn takes Phoebe to school; 2. I pick Phoebe up from school. I hear some of the stories about their trips to school, but I clearly do not know all that goes on in that 15 minute span of time. I do know that there are frequent stops at QT for a "special treat" most mornings and that there is some form of music education occurring. Shawn listens to all kinds of music, and teaches Phoebe all about the obscure and not-so-obscure bands he likes. However, if you know my husband, even remotely, you know that his favorite band of all time is Pearl Jam.

But I digress...

This afternoon Phoebe was having a snack in the car after I picked her up from school. We were chatting and the radio was playing softly in the background. Out of nowhere, Phoebe started shushing me to be quiet. "Listen, Mommy. That's Eddie Bedder. He is the singer for Pearl Jam."

My jaw dropped. She was right. The song "Breathe" was playing, and she was right. Shawn is already indoctrinating her with his love for this band. She sometimes seems so grown up, but the fact that she called him Eddie Bedder helped me remember she's stille a little tike. I guess Shawn's 15 minute music appreciation lessons are paying off!

Birthday Party!

May 4, 2011 marked the 3rd birthday of this precious little girl. Phoebe has rocked our world in so many amazing ways, and we are so richly blessed by her.

Phoebe wanted to celebrate her birthday at Monkey Joe's, so that's what we did. She had a blast with all her friends. Here she is with her buddy Parker; they are so silly when they get together. These two went to Miss Pat's together when they were infants and they are still good friends.
She and Parker are climbing to the top of the slide to meet their other buddy Luke.

And a quick pause for a photo opp..

She was all smiles on her special day.

Spring cleaning...

Phoebe really wanted to help me clean the deck furniture the other day. She had her own bucket and rag. She loves to help... actually, she loves to do anything that I am doing.

Easter

Easter Sunday was a special day. The cousins were all together, which is always right where they want to be!This is one of those pictures we don't often take these days. Here is the original cast of the Edwards family... just brother, sister, mom, and dad.
And what is Easter without a petting zoo? Phoebe and the boys loved brushing all the animals.
